Annual FHNO Travel Award
The Annual FHNO Travel Award allows candidates to visit any Indian Centre of excellence in Head-Neck Oncology in the capacity of an Observer.
The centre visited should necessarily be geographically distant from the applicant’s home institution.
It shall normally be the responsibility of the successful candidate to liaise with an Institution of their choice and to secure an observer position.
Objective of Annual FHNO Travel Award
To facilitate skill enhancement and knowledge exchange in clinical skills, technological awareness, basic science, clinical research and cancer prevention.
To acquire appropriate exposure and expertise for effective application and use of learned skills.
6-8 per year
1 month award : Rs. 20,000/-
3 months : Rs 50,000
Shireen Gazdar Award (12 months): Rs 150000

- Basic Medical, Dental, Nursing, Paramedical qualification.
- Head-Neck Clinicians (surgeons / radiation / medical oncologists or other related specialties) Basic science investigators, public health professionals, nursing& para-medical professionals ( Eg. Speech and swallowing pathologist)
- A post-graduate qualification is not an essential qualification.
- Professionals at all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. Young professionals early in their career and also clinicians well established in oncology practice are both encouraged.
- The prime criteria for assessment would be the potential for adoption of the learned skills in the applicant’s home situation / institution and the potential for enhancement of Head-Neck Oncology practice/ research in the home environment.
- An effort would be made to include variety in the selection of candidates so as to encourage all levels of seniority and also varied sub-specialties.
