15th Annual FHNO Conference

The 15th National conference was held in Nagpur from September 10-13 2015, was hosted by Vidarbha Otolaryngology Association (VSHNO), under the stewardship of Dr Madan Kapre.

The conference was formally inaugurated by Union Surface Transport Minister, Mr. Nitin Gadkari and Mr. Ajay Sancheti & Mr. Vijay Darda (Rajya Sabha MPs). For the first time a 3D live transmission was made from a local institute (Neeti Clinic) where surgeons from all over the world performed surgeries like thyroidectomy, paratidectomy, laryngectomy and neck dissections. The 4 orations included RM Tiwari oration by Fredrico Biglioli (University of Milan, Italy), the LH Hiranandani oration by  Prof Charie Ann Mathan (LSU Shreveport), PA Shah oration by Roberto Puxxedu (University of Cagliari School of Medicine, Azienda, Italy) and Founder oration by Dr. Kapre.

Srilankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya and Indian test cricketer Nilesh Kulkarni were also present at the conference.

To spread awareness on Head & Neck cancer amongst the local community there was a Public Awareness Rally organised on 23rd August 2015.
